Stevens Creek VW told me that the remanufactured axles will be used.
This is what the parts guy said and was confirmed by the service rep.
They emphasized that they are VW remanufactured axles. They are from
VW in Germany. Guess what, I believed that they will use remanufactured
axles. But I don't believe a word that they are from Germany. Their
words don't have any credibility whatsoever. This kind of refurb practice
is exactly why they lose customers one after another all the time. The
more they lose customers the more scam they will need to employ to live
on. The culture of the VW dealership in California is formed this way
and they lose new car buyers to Japanese competitors like a collapsed
dam that it is simply impossible to reverse the flow of water afterwards.
My 10 year 100k Mile power train warranty is factory warranty, not extended
warranty. So far every dealership I called declined to honor the warranty.
It's not worth it to fight it if I only get refurb'ed axles even if I do
get them to fix the axles.
Believe it or not, I do not have a single friend who does not buy Japanese
cars. The only exception is my wife's cousine who leases a MB S-560. He
is a doctor. He leases a new one every two years for tax purposes. Other
than that none of my friends own a VW or any European cars. Some of my co-
workers own BMWs and MBs. No one has VWs. What a lessen I learned.
