Man, I'm never going to Santal Clara. Or anywhere else :) Not all dealers VW are bad. Not all of the other brands are good. With a new baby we've done the whole shop around bit and got a mixed bag on attitude and sell-pressure. Whatever LOL. Now for the positive. We have a '00 Golf TDI (no, it doesn't leak and it's only problem is the seats attract fuz) which we have the dealer change the oil on. Last time we brought it by, the mechanic recognized the name and asked how the westy was doing (we get our state inspections there). Turns out he's a Vanagon guy and we talked for 30min while my ride waited. This dealership has treated us well and I'd go back, but I'm careful about who I talk to. Like all of them, they run through sales people like water. Now compare this to the other local VW place that's consistently tried to over sell and corner us -- we'll never go back. And the Jeep dealer who knows what we want (a diesel Wrangler - HA) and insists on calling to sell us something randomly different (and who's repair dept told us to quote "buy a new car, your Jeep is crap" last time Kris had them look at it (freeze plug, it's getting rebuild). Again, not everyone's the same... john |
