Water getting in may not be your first symptom, but it will become your second symptom, if you don't repair it in a timely manner. Water will find a way into your fuel tank and give you grief at some point. I know mine did when I procrastinated the repair and kept my fill-ups short to avoid the overflowing problems. It's a pain to get to, but you've got to do it soon..........
