Distilled water is water that was vaporised then re-condensed back into a liquid form, ergo, water from a de-humidifier or domestic air conditioner is distilled water as it has been condensed from the vapor form in the atmosphere. Condensate water works really well for distilled water applications. However, it is not as pure as the distilled water bought from the stores because it usually has contaminates in it like dust and bacteria. For use in a Vanagon cooling system or in batteries pass the water through a paper coffee filter to remove the physical contaminants. Don't drink the stuff. It will still have bacteria in it.

John Rodgers
