Like the engine, you don't want to fill it to the top mark. That is not the full mark. The top mark is the max do not ever exceed no matter what mark. 1/2 quart will get you where you need to be but happened that the level went down? You want the trans warm, engine running and van level before topping it off. ATF loss at the governor seal going into he final drive is a fairly common problem.

Does anyone know how much fluid it takes to raise the level from the bottom mark to the top? I need to add fluid and I'm curious as to the actual amount of fluid between the two marks so that I don't have to dribble it in a little at a time.
