Hi Mike,

I can verify that a propane furnace will not operate at temps below
-40. (Fahrenheit and Celsius meet at -40, which is also the freezing
point of Mercury). The propane will condense into liquid and will not
flow out of the tank. I experienced this first-hand during a winter
Boy Scout camp 30 years ago, when the furnace in the bunkhouse failed
overnight due to extreme cold. Imagine the resulting pandemonium when
there were about 40 kids crammed into the Ranger's house the next
morning for a warm-up after breakfast!!

Above the boiling point of propane you should have no problems with
the furnace.

Note: If there is butane or other gases mixed into your propane they
will have different boiling points. Butane boils at 31F, for
instance. But AFAIK butane is not mixed into propane in Canada or the
US.
