well, after all is said and done...i am happy to know that my transmission is not missing a gear HA! but i am still getting horrid gas millage. but i guess thats a 'hole-nuther' post altogether. so...lets forget about this k? haha C~ ps i did actually rationalized this and i remember thinking .. "it would have D 3,2,1 on the shifter if it was a 4spd..." and then thinking well it IS vw...could it just be part of vw quirkyness? i swear i'm a college graduate! oh well.
