Depends what year it is. The old ones were just simple tanks, as far as I know. The newer ones have a pick up in the middle, in that little deeper spot. Sometimes, when someone attempted to lift the car by the tank, it may have been dented. It could happen at a tire shop or a general repair shop also. No other car has a tank in front, you know. When you say, you ran out of gas, did you run out completely or the gauge was just very low? Because in that case, it could be the gauge not showing you correctly. I ran out of gas today and it only took 13 gallons to fill it. What could be going on here. The tank is a few years old. I don't remember having problems back then, but I think the gauge is not so accurate on the low end now. Could something internal to the tank be wrong? Pick-up tube? Does anyone have a pic or drawing of what the inside of a tank looks like?
