Right now, on another newsgroup to which I subscribe, there is a great debate going on about whether to change to a forum format or not. Apparently, for Moderators, it makes life easier, especial if the list is huge, as in the case of this other group - not large by some standards, but big enough - some 5000 active members.For the moment, it's about 50-50 about changing format or not. That one half feels like I do. - the classic newsgroup listing allows for "living memory" to be more active, and allows for closer personal connection. Other formats appear not to do this.

Again, I like our "Living Memory", which typically is made of of some Guru's, some regulars, some not so regulars, and a few Curmudgeons. All of to whom you can make a post, and get an almost immediate response. I wouldn't want it any other way.
