dear todd

i just found out something interesting about my vanagon which is this machine http://boltze.dyndns.org/terlinden/prospekte/deutschland/reisemobile/Westfalia/1989_09_California_Zubehoer/Seite02.jpg it has a 5 speed syncro transmission from the factory ... with the slip lock differential ... (both wheels spin) and ... more to the point it seems to have a syncro shell ... there is a hump at the point where the gear shift enters the floor deck ... and some things about the outside caused my wife to comment the other day ... hey you know our van looks alot like a syncro ... especially from the back

well i am afraid i am not sophisticated enough to see the subtle differences she mentions ... but i am subtle enough to see the hump in the floor deck ... good luck with your conversion ... yours
