I did this several years ago and to do it correctly it is LOTS of work. I kept a complete list of parts and if you really do decide to go ahead with the project, feel free to email me for more details. Obviously if you can get everything from a used syncro, then you don't have to locate everything. Except for the tranny, I bought everything new.

Daryl at AA Transaxle is a place to start. You do need a different front mount. I don't know about the shifter as I have a 5-speed but not a sycro with the granny gear. The plumbing for the diff lock is a real pain if you want it to look like an original syncro.
