>I want VW to build a new sports car. I loved the Scirocco and >Corrado. I don't want a rebadged Chrysler. I >want another VW sports car. > >That's what i want. The Scirocco & Corrado were not sportscars, just coupes. The first Scirocco, though, did have one major component necessary for a modern sportscar (ie not like the old MGs etc, which didn't handle)... handling. Call it a sporty coupe. Later Sciroccos & the Corrado never cut the mustard, being understeerers. Of course (my old bitch) US-markets cars never handled, and this continues, with detuned suspensions wherever you look. >Find a VW R32. Ya i know, it looks like a golf.....technically thats because the body is a golf. That's because it IS a Golf. I guess it's just marketed in the US without Golf badges. It uses an enlarged version of the VW narrow-angle 2.8 SOHC V6. They are Golf 5s. There's one (Golf 5) that lives not far from my house. >You guys, or sir, there are Audi's that are very similar to the equivalent >VW model. >But to say Audi's are rebadged VW's shows that you know very little about Audi's line up. Soe VWs are rebadged Audis, and it's been this way since VW bought Audi. And some modern Audis are rebadged VWs. Anything with a transverse engine is a VW design. Of course the Q7 is a modified Touareg/Cayenne. >only features such as the Audi TT engine (250hp! VR6), AWD, 6 speed short >shift manual transmission, custom seats by Konig, special wheels, and all VW stopped calling its narrow-angle V5 & V6 "VR" years ago. -- Andrew Grebneff Dunedin New Zealand Fossil preparator Seashell, Macintosh, VW/Toyota van nut ‚ Opinions stated are mine, not those of Otago University "There is water at the bottom of the ocean" - Talking Heads |
