That is certainly true, my point was that a G4 is still very usable for most folks (I bought one this year), and can be had at a fraction of the cost of a new Mac. I know people who are still using G3 macs and happy, for stuff like web surfing, email, etc. If you do go shopping for an older Mac notebook, be aware that it will likely need a new battery if you want to use it unplugged.
