Someone could build a "Field Guide to Vanagons" page on the wiki with photos detailing the visual exterior differences between the different models and years -- or at least email the skeleton of the article to me and I could post it. Then others could post side, rear, and front shots of their personal vehicles. While the cognoscenti could probably name the model and year of a Vanagon with a quick glance, I can only identify Westys, plain Vanagons, and Syncros (by the gas filler location). I reckon there would need to be North American guide, one for Europe, and so on, if someone wants get real ambitious. -- Mike "Rocket J Squirrel" Elliott 71 Type 2: the Wonderbus 84 Westfalia: Mellow Yellow ("The Electrical Banana") 74 Utility Trailer.
