My Mother and Mother-in Law who are now Macintosh users asked
the same question.. "Which anti spyware/virus software do I run"

To which I answered.. "none"

I've been using Apple Macintosh computers since 1995.  I have *NEVER*
(and never is a strong word) been hit by any virus/spyware and the
like.  Again I repeat *NEVER*

There have been a few 'proof of concept' type of viri that have gone
out over the years, and maybe one Qucktime exploit (which still required
the user to run it)

By and large, nothing.. and my machines have been connected to
the internet nearly 24/7 for years, one even running a web server
with Apache and PHP.. again nothing.
