Good morning great and knowledgeable list!!

Here is my question: The governor oil ring (Washer VW calls it) on my '87 Auto tranninie is leaking a little. I got a new oil ring for it. Is their any thing to be aware of when I remove the cap? I know their is a spring and a piston in their that I will need to much back in when putting the cap back on.

thanks in advance.
