If satellite radio isn't free, why would satellite TV be free ? One of my personal life sayings is that most of the time really awful predictions, like Y2K are never as bad as they say they're going to , and really fantastic wonderful free perfect things are never really quite that either usually.

Also, I don't know if satellite radio works just everywhere, but friends of mine on satellite internet connection are also saying it's dodgey............. one friend of mine lives in the state capital no less, and says there's no ClearWire or cable there, that he has to have satellite internet connection, and if it snows, that takes out his connection. And it's no unusual for his satellite internet connection to be out.

There usually isn't any 'free automatic' really. I'm naturally skeptical that there will be 'free automatic just anywhere super perfect' satellite TV, at least for a while yet. . Or if there is, they're not telling you the TV for I costs $ 2,000. I'm not 'that' cynical generally, but it think the way you portray it is unlikely for a while yet. Scott

I've just seen a smattering of info on what is supposedly a coming communications revolution - Free Satelite TV to virtually anywhere. No more cable TV and there big monthly fees for their big package. It started in Canada and has spread. Supposedly you can receive some 4000 TV stations no matter where you are - even when having coffee with the Yeti in the Alps. - all for free// - after a small onetime charge of around $100. After that, no more billing. No monthy fee, no other misc. fees. All free. Includes your local stations, sports, news etc. movie channels, all of it.

Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks,

John Rodgers 88 GL Driver
