Hi Gang,

Has anyone replaced their late Vanagon headlights with regular rectangular E-Code headlights and lived to tell about it?

I'm planning on this conversion on my '88, and don't want to reinvent the wheel unless I really need to.

The main area of difficulty that I can see are mounting the darn things as the Vanagon uses unique hardware etc., and of course I plan to install relays into the circuit as I always do.

The main reason I want to do this is the standard rectangular lenses are far cheaper than the standard Vanagon lights, let alone the E code ones. I miss the Hellas that I had on my '84.

Thanks, Gregory Smith Olympia, WA USA '88 VW Vangon '87 Bertone X1/9 Corsa
