Jim,

I think it's OK - on the list - to ask pretty much any question, Vanagon
related or not - BUT,  and it is a big BUT - it is a courtesy to us all
to request - along with the question - that all responses be made off
list directly to the person asking the question. And it is a courtesy to
us all to respond to that question but OFF LIST. I see nothing wrong
with that approach at all.

I do agree with you that these long non-Vanagon conversations should be
kept pretty much off the list.
