Subject: diesel alternator interchangability
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hello, basically three alternator choices listed on BD web site for the diesel Vanagon- a 90 amp and a 65 amp Bosch, and a 65 amp Motorola. Are these interchangeable? If not, what are the differences? Mounts? Pulleys?

The reason I'm asking is that I'm still considering buying a diesel Vanagon from my mechanic. It's not quite ready yet, but I believe it has the Motorola alternator, and I want a 90 amp alt. to go in there. What would I have to have done?

Thanks, Ed
