Yes, many Vanagons came with full central locking. It's not very difficult to install if you have the donor van next to yours. IMHO, it requires above average mechanical patience to do it otherwise. I've retrofitted PL, PW, and PM (fully wired) before. I have one important advise for you in this regard. Make sure the parts you are buying (used) are working before you install them. Don't ask why. It brings back back memories. =)

It would probably be easier to use one of the Autoloc brand kits or something comparable available in the market. One vendor, Ken Wilford at Vanagain.com was offering a kit by Electric Life(?) or something like that.
