Oil does not go bad sitting for that amount of time -- BUT -- if that 2,400 miles has been a lot of short trips where things did not get fully warmed up that is pretty hard on the oil. Mobil-1 in my experience should be good for a lot more than 3,000 miles. But, my experience with it is not in a waterboxer, so I don't know if they tend to be harder on oil.
