It is rare for these shafts to become galled or to even wear. Either the oil being used can not do the job or the oil is not flowing through the lifters, pushrods, and rockers. Yes this is all part of the pressurized oil system. Causes of low flow can be anything from something clogged, worn cam bearings, excessive valve lash, or low oil pressure. Dennis
