Thanks for the reminder on that. I haven't done it but as soon as I read about it here, I thought that's the perfect solution, using the key buzzer signal from the ignition key to allow power to the radio. ( use it to control a relay of course , not actually supply power to the radio ). That way you can still have tunes with 'engine and ignition off' . And can't forget and leave it on when you leave the car. The perfect solution. I seem to recall there is a signal in the keyswitch that detects whether the key is inserted. It activates an electro-nag to keep you from leaving your keys in the ignition. You can use this to activate the relay for the accessory power. Then, the accessory power only works when the key is in the ignition. Doesn't have to be 'on' just 'in'.
