Rebuilt just doesn't cut it anymore based on over long-term costs, effort and just plain aggravation. Go with a new one. Save your old one to get sleeved and new seals installed and keep it as a spare.

The only cylinders I have rebuilt anymore are those that just aren't plain available anymore, anywhere. Like Type 411/412 Brake & Clutch Cylinders - I have them done by Whitepost, the guys who do lots of classic and antique vehicle cylinders. I may not make a lot of $$ selling these to 411/412 owners, but that happiness from each of those persons that get one from me is satisfaction enough. Besides, I'm weird to offer 411/412 stuff anyway to that "cult" following. -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 73 K Ghia Coupe "Denise" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com *********************************** On Feb 12, 2008 1:13 PM, David Bohannan <fjazzbass@gmail.com> wrote:
