Subject:      Vanagon Sightings In Batumi


Hey all,


I've been in Batumi, Georgia for the past few days on business and have doubled my annual Vanagon sightings!
At home in Texas I may see two a year but just today I have seen a white passenger van with round headlights, a silver Syncro, a dark metallic Carat/Wolfsburg style, and the back end of a white/blue air cooled model.  No Westfalias in the bunch but all except the A/C looked to be in very good shape given the road conditions and the rather insane drivers.


There are a lot of other interesting vehicles on the road including the very Sprinter like Ford Transits and a Chevrolet badged Lada 4x4.  I've been riding around in a diesel powered Toyota Hiace.  Not too bad.
