Subject: Wipers? Speed control?
Content-type: text/plain; charset=utf-8

Never had any luck actually finding much in the Archives so I'm asking direct..

Weird, but my wipers seem to have lost their high speed. I think. The high speed they did have was never very much faster than the other speed, but now I really don't see any difference when I go up to the second position with the wiper control stalk on my steering column...1984 Van with intermittent wipers at the down position..off above that, then low speed then high speed with the control switched all the way up, or counterclockwise, if you think of the steering wheel as the clock face... Is there a common problem with the wipers...like some contacts that corrode or a bushing that wears out? Anybody have any hints as to what to look at? I'd rather not just "throw parts at it" with a whole new switch if I don't need one. You wouldn't think the desert southwest is a place where a Northwesterner would end up finding out about a window wiper problem...but it has been raining here...last week we got over 2 inches in one storm...equal to the whole amount of precip for the past 3 years!...so it does rain here, sometimes. Thanks, Don Hanson
