Subject: WAS: lower rad grill size. NOW: D-OH! and question (PIC included!)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Here's the pic:

I measured the opening on me 85' parts Vanagon at 6.5" but had doubts about the diagram I drew at the time, so I double checked on-line before cutting. I cut to 6.5" to be safe, as that was what I wrote down on my fetid diagram, but this is just all wrong.

People who kindly responded, of course this is my own "doing"! --- :^)

It doesn't seem to fit properly. The tangs don't fit and the hole is too big.

I should have cut it (and please don't laugh) to the size of grill I had in hand!

I'm sure I can make this fit, but rather than repair the body and/or alter a perfectly good grill.....

are there different sized lower grills for different years?

Is there a difference in the nose of the Vanagon between the "Transporter" model and the Westy?

If so, anyone want to trade me?

Heh heh.... oops.

Neil.
