Where you have to go is an Automotive Paint Supply place, the kind that
sells to professional auto body and paint shops.
I got my soft red 83 Westy acrylic enamel touch up paint that way .........
And I had the color code off the van ., LH8B .....mmmm..........same as
yours.
Don't try getting that from a vw dealer.
If the dealer does paint and body work, they probably get their materials
from a local paint and body supply place, not from VW or anything.
I paid 15 dollars for a small bottle............and I've touched up a
hundred places and haven't gone through 20 % of the little bottle even,
Scott

Interesting. Good tip.
I really should use the right products from the get-go. Or at least
try to read the directions! I found my tin of "Rust Check" primer.
That paint will accept automotive type enamel top coat.
I had read on this list recently, about VW dearlerships possibly
providing matched paint. My dealership didn't show anything for my 81'
Westy. LH8B paint code IIRC. So I priced out a spray can of "matched"
paint from my FLAPS. They want $40 (!) for it. And would want more for
a pint of it! At least most of the touch up is behind the grill I cut
the hole for.
Neil.
