Demand for oil for car fuel is not likely to diminish any time soon, considering that China and India have millions and millions of people now starting to make enough to own a car. They want their turn at car ownership now. World car production I think is strongly on the increase, not any sort of leveling off. And I sure don't hear about China or India growing sugar cane to run their cars on like Brazil does currently. I think there will be a lot of fossil fuel burning cars and vehicles for quite a while yet. Almost all transport globally ............ships, trucks, trains, and cars of course..........and planes - all oil fueled right now, and increasing all the time actually, though there are more efficient cars all the time, and smaller ones are always an option.........but the amount of transport of people and goods and is only going up, exponentially even right now. But unless there is some big breakthrough on batteries, the all electric age won't be here overnight. Or imminent environmental catastrophe........that might make humans slow down slightly on oil burning. s.

>> It's the nature of electric motors to be very reliable anyway - the extreme. <<

Absolutely. When we go to electric motors all we'll ever replace is bearings and brushes.

>> The Age Of Oil............. Let's just say the 'glory days' are probably going to be winding down in the coming few decades. <<

Agreed. Once they perfect the battery for long trips and fast charge the gas motor is dead. BUT, that means future cars will be electric and the remaining dwindling oil will be used to power our older gasoline engines until we replace them with electrics. Supply and demand will keep gas cheap. Sure, the supply will get lower but the demand is going to get lower too.

>> And Toll Bridges and Roads.........just stopping for tolls alone wastes billions of gallons of fuel. <<

Geez, whole other topic altogether. Why doesn't everybody have EZPass?
