Subject: Seam Rust

After procrastinating for too long I finally decided to tackle the seam rust problem. I have been purchasing materials for some time and the rust was only getting worse. So, I started cleaning out the seams from the exterior painted side. Then I realized that the problem has to be from damaged or worn undercoating. What do you recommend for recoating all affected areas? I remember using spray stuff 30 years ago without good results. I would think there must be a good quality brush on material. Thanks.
