Hey, I'm rescuing the good ones.
I have a near showroom condition 82 with sunroof, stored indoors in a dry
climate,
And I just bought an 83 5 speed diesel vanagon with sunroof also, and when I
get that cleaned up she'll be a beauty. I only get no rust ones, good body,
nice colors. 

And I got an 82 diesel westy too recently, though it had a 98 Impreza subaru
engine......
Just delivered that to Portland Or.  Man did that thing run nice !

The stock 82 passenger ones...........I might give those a new home if free.

And diesel westys, if decent and a good price, I buy those .

Chris S,and other TDI, or NA Diesel aficionados;

  Looking at the Samba today: 4 Diesel Vanagons posted for sale in the last
24 hours.  They really don't make a good argument for Diesel conversion,
more like heart-breaking basket cases.  However if anyone wants to take the
plunge they are each "BEST OFFER".  Someone needs to rescue these Diesels.
I already have my own potential basket case with 187,000 miles on my
complete original WBX.
