I wasn't thinking that an hour would do it. More like 4 possibly. The one I experimented with for a while today heated the hoses to 120 degrees after a while. The worst it gets where I am is about 28 degrees ..............i would hope that a few hours of putting in energy would get it somewhat warmed up inside. We'll have to see.

For it to be effective, you pretty much will have to run it anytime the engine is not running.

In 20 degree weather, place a 1,500 watt heater in the van and see how long it will take to warm the van. Now plan to heat the coolant in the engine with the same amount of heat. 1,500 watts is a little over 5,000 BTUs. You are not going to heat the coolant and the van by turning this on an hour before you want to use it.

Come on, put it on a timer. You don't have to run it 24/7!

Thanks, Miguel
