I don't know anymore if I lubed it afterwards, but a drop of oil shouldn't
hurt. Mine wasn't used for a long time and the tool allows to to apply a
larger force and you don't have to be afraid of braking the knob. And with
all these things, apply a "gentle' amount of force rather than "brute" force
