Subject: Re: S&S Exhaust system, how bad????

Ryan, I installed the S&S exhaust in my Syncro in 1998. I had read that people had some problems, which I'm sure you will hear about in response to your post. Mine fit with no problem whatsoever. There was the usual challenge with the nuts and bolts that is common no matter what you install. I post this knowing that my expierence will be in the minority, but still feel it is valuable. As I recall, it cost 350.00 for everything (including muffler)except the cat. Don't recall if the gasket set was included. It was shiny and black, with some good welding and some not so pretty welds. Like I said, it all fit fine, though the snow storm gave me hell! It was not long before all the black paint was gone, replaced by the familiar rusty surface. In short, it was worth the savings and the muffler has a slightly lower tone, which I like (I'd better.)Add to this the fact that this exhaust system is still in service on the same Syncro, after many winters, and my conclusion is that it was worth it. YMMV, of course. Good luck, Miguel
