I think for a 4 speed MT tranny you'll need to buy 4 quarts. It says either 3.2 or 3.4 in Bentley, I don't recall which (but it also depends on how much you get out initially). I did this a few months ago and it helps a TON to buy one of those little trans-fill pumps for $7 that sit inside the container and allows you to pump it in through a tube....oh...looks like you have the tranny out - even easier, just dump it in, sorry for not reading thoroughly.

You know it is full when you stick your index finger in the filler hole and when you wrap your first digit over the edge, it is just touching the top of the fluid (i.e. just a bit under the hole). I've seen a lot of posts saying you can fill it all the way to the hole, but I believe Bentley says something like 5/8" below the filler hole (better double check that measurement, I don't have the book in front of me). I tend to follow Bentley on these things, so if it says to fill it just a bit below the hole, that's what I do. This measurement is of course done with the tranny oriented as it would be on your van.
