I had Maaco paint my 66 Fastback for 2,500. I did all the prep work and brought it over stripped and in primer. I'm talking no glass,no trim,no drivetrain (had in on a steel cart with casters)no interior and they did a excellent job. The funny part is they use it in their advertisement now to show off their craftmanship, but they don't tell you how it was brought over to them. They also don't tell about the fact they didn't do any of the reassembly. The photos show it after I put the car back together.

I've owned 3 such cars. One was a Corvette that had been repainted from silver to metallic brown, total color change and virtually impossible to detect. Don't know the cost, bought it that way. Second was a '67 Ford Mustang, also bought after the paint job, but had the receipt for $4,500.00 (back in 1994). Third was a Chevy van that I had repainted, and I'm not kidding here, it was done at a Maaco. I went in for the advertised $189.00 special and was talked into spending $800.00-this was in 1986. I was amazed when I picked it up-it was flawless. Couldn't get a paint job like that today even close for that amount. FWIW, Maaco's are franchised, and that one had just been taken over by a Korean family, and damn, they did a fine job. Jeff
