The OEM alloys were originally supplied with a special Michelin tire, 205/70-R14 with a reinforced sidewall. The reinforced tire allowed this tire to be rated with a load 97 index, 1,580 pounds at 50 psi. It is not an LT tire or load range "C". It is a reinforced or high load index passenger vehicle tire.

There were only a few manufacturers that made reinforced tires in this size. If you do find one, it will most likely be too old to be used for regular highway travel. Even when new, these tires rarely lasted until the tread actually wore off. Tread separations were common. You will need to consider another size tire to get an adequate load rating.

Guys,

I just recently installed a set of alloys with a full set of Michelin class "C" tires with very good tread that I had been storing, waiting for my other tires to finally wear out. Now after installing them, I have found that one of my tires may be seperating internally, so I am in need of another tire. Before I go shell out big $ for a new tire, I thought I would ask if anybody happens to have one almost new tire they could sell & ship to me.

Thanks,
