From experience, front first is more stable. If a long tow, remove the rear axle shafts. With the front up on a dolly the front roller bearing can go dry and burn up. Yes I have seen it. If going inter state check laws, many now reqiure towed vehicles to be registered and insured. Does the dolly have brakes? May be reqiured. Watch signs for wieght stations. Some now require all towing vehicles to go through. Consider the tow bar approach. Vanagons tow nicely 4 wheels down.
