Well, maybe it does. Maybe because it was truck. Maybe because it was not USA spec. I have yet to see a gross combined weight rating on any Vanagon I have worked on.

In fact I have not seen any weight compliance labels on the curb side.

I also could be wrong!

Hmm. I'm pretty sure my Tristar DOES have a GCWR label (on the passenger side).

This includes documentation that you are within the weight ratings of the vehicles, axles, and the gross combined weight ratings, (GCWR). If you note the ratings on the Vanagon door jam, we do not have GCWR listed. Yep, we can't tow anything.
