This tire is listed as an XL (extra load) tire which matches the ratings of the OEM tires for this size. It appears to be a very close replacement for the original Michelins. They were supposed to be 50,000 mile plus tires. The only down side is that they are shorter that the 185/80R-14 tires so you are not traveling as fast or as far as the speedometer indicates. I would go for it. This would be a great tire to go with those new 14" Bus depot wheels.

Guys,

I don't want to start another tire thread, but since I'm having to repace my new/old Michelin tires that are seperating, I'm looking at alternatives for my 14" alloy wheels.

I came across the General Altimax RT tire in a 205/70TR14 size. I've put a link to the tire rack page below. What caught my attention is the 98T rating, the 1653 lb. load rating, the 51 psi pressure and the 70,000 mile warranty and the $52.00 price. A local shop can put these on my van for just under $150.

Any thoughts on this one?
