Subject: alignment results
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Got the front end aligned the other day, after replacing my steering rack, strut rod bushings, and ball joints.

I had done a "measuring tape" alignment myself and had actually gotten it pretty close except for the caster, which was way off, about 3 degrees too much. This is the adjustment set by the strut rods, though I had measured the setting when I removed them.

Once the proper caster was set, the occasional "twang" I would hear going over bumps completely vanished.

The guy at the shop did ask me why I was running so much tire pressure and I had to show him the sticker inside the door to convince him it was correct.
