Heck yes!! This is one of the most little-known common problems in water boxers. Fix those leaks, and your mileage will increase. Save a few bucks to boot.

One way to check for leaks is pressurize the tailpipe with a vacuum cleaner. Blow some smoke into the vacuum cleaner intake, and see where it comes out.

Piece o' cake to find. An exhaust patch (metal piece with clamps) as a good temporary fix.
