Subject: Limited Slip Diff. sources?
Content-type: text/plain; charset=utf-8

Hey all, I know I can probably get Daryl at AAA Transaxle to install a limited slip into my 84 with a diesel 5 speed manual trans...hopefully...but does anyone have a source for the L.S.D. units so that I might go ahead and do it myself? Logistics and an interest in learning about the driveline by hands-on experience are why I ask. I live a full day from Daryl's shop but I have an anticipated bit of free time coming up this April, so I'm looking around at my options. Also, and perhaps a dumb question, but is it possible to adapt the Locker function from a Syncro tranny, or perhaps modify my existing gearbox into a copy of one of those? I am interested in gaining the ability to do some very light, short, off road excursions into sandy areas and to be able to 'self-rescue' when I get stuck going uphill in slick snowy conditions..I'm not wanting to turn into a Jeep or a real Syncro, but just to extend my possible camping options so that I can get away from all the rude motorhomes and their loud generators by going where they won't make it before we camp.. Thanks, Don Hanson
