> I've got Nokian Hakkapeliitta CS 195/R14C tires on my '86 weekender.> The tire sticker on the driver's door says 39 PSI front and 48 PSI rear.> Is there any good reason to diverge from these recommendations?> Thanks. This may not be advisable but it's what I now do. The van is 21 years old (mine) and tire technology today is different than it was 21 years ago. I now use tires that are rated for my vehicle so I use the pressure recommendations on the tire. I have the C2's without studs and drive unloaded at 38 front, 45 rear. Loaded 42 front, 48 rear and it seems to handle very well. When you consider that the max. inflation recommended for this tire is 70 lbs., this leaves a lot of "room" for varying pressure according to load and driving preference.
