I spoke with Peter over at Volkscafe about this a few weeks ago.  Since the
beginning of the year, they have done at least 6 fuel tank reseals due to
vehicles failing this test.  They all passed fine after the reseal.

I may be late to the game on this, but don't recall anyone writing about
it. I just read on GoWesty's site that "Starting in 2008 in California ...
a new law now requires that [t]he fuel tank vapor control system pass a
pressure test as part of the regular smog test."*

So, California Vanagon owners: anyone here on the list had any experience
getting smogged in 2008? They pump your fuel tank up and did you pass or
fail miserably (as I expect my '84 will)?
