The other day I noticed that a plastic cap on one end of the sliding door arm had shattered. According to ETKA, it looks like part #251843390A, called "protective cap". My main question is, What is it protecting? Until I can get a new part, I've been using the door without this cap in place, but I'm a little worried that I may be damaging some other precious NLA parts by doing so. And a related question: Has anyone tried replacing this with some other kind of generic plastic cap available at a hardware store? I didn't get a good sense of what the cap looked like before it fell apart, but it seems pretty vanilla to me. -Thanks |
