Hi Joe,
As you know I have a Westy Interior and an AW top. I only just started
thinking about this but this was the original plan:
- Bring water on the drivers side via hose from outside using a Westy hose
hookup.
- Once inside hookup to a "T" fitting so I could use the on-board water tank
instead of hose if need be. I'd place the"T" out of sight inside the Westy
kitchen cupboard (under the Westy sink)
- After the "T" run the water through a Larry Chase style engine heat
exchanger: http://www.glind.com.au/
- The hose would then run up a the B or C pillar
- If I managed to use the B pillar I'd run the hose into the forward
AW storage area with a shut off in case I ever need to remove the top.
- From the forward storage area, I'd run horizontally backwards ending up
just forward of the skylight and centered, possibly a bit towards the
passenger side.
In a Westy, this location gives the largest amount of shower space, and
having the skylight above adds light as well as "cool factor".
Now, having said all this, I JUST went out to my van to have a look around
before sending this e-mail and noticed my Eurovan faucet:

more or less reaches the same spot so I may not go into the pillars after
all, assuming it can take the pressure.
Either way I'd attach a shower curtain possibly running as far out as the
edges of the Westy top opening in the roof with some sort of secondary
curtain to protect the upper bunk. This would allow even more light and
ventilation from the side windows. Though am worried that water would pool
at the side of the top.
From there I'd likely have the water exit via a floor drain on the driver's
side somewhere between where the driveshaft sits under the van and where the
kitchen cabinets end. Yes the passenger side would probably be easier, but I
have a stainless SA tank that will hopefully one day hold veggie oil under
the passenger door area so I don't want to have to move the drain later.
