Jonce -

1) Yes - 251 919 253 A & 251 919 253 H 2) Yes - 251 919 253 A & 251 919 253 H 3) Yes - there are three:

255 919 253 - Black Face Tach on Wolfsburg Edition 1984s 251 919 253 A - Multi-Colored Face - Original on 1985 Models 251 919 253 H - Multi-Colored Face - Original on 86-91 models, replacement for 1985

In otherwords, the A is superseded to the H.

The difference is not so much in the Tachometers, but the Instrument Foils and their appropriate connections to operate the Dynamic Oil Pressure Buzzer System on 86-91 models, specifically for the Multi-Colored Tachometers. Unfortunately, I do not know if the 255 919 253 or the 251 919 253 A Tachs have the appropriate connections for the Buzzer System (I kinda doubt it).

Please see my PDF on Cluster Upgrades on my website:

http://www.oldvolkshome.com/late_van_cluster_install.pdf

I try to use 1985 Clusters for the upgrade whenever possible to avoid the extra work in defeating the Buzzer System that is not present on 80-84 models.

This is why collect and retain the old VW Parts Fiche. Loads of info that ETKA does not (nor will it ever) have. -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 73 K Ghia Coupe "Denise" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com *********************************** On Fri, Mar 14, 2008 at 5:23 PM, Jonce Fancher <streetbugs@whispllc.com> wrote:
