David,
I and many others have installed ours under the luggage carrier.
Seems to work fine.

Subject: Sirius radio antenna for Westfalia
I am trying to install a Sirius radio in my 90 Westfalia and the car
install kit has the magnetic satellite antenna which won't work for obvious
reasons. I really don't want to glue it to the poptop which is the only flat
spot that will allow for 3 inches of space all the way around as Sirius
recommends. This might cause some reception problems when using the radio
when camping with the top popped. I was thinking of a through the windshield
antenna. There is one that is an XM antenna that is made for the Honda
Ridgeline that seems to work well and has what looks to be the same
connector on the cable that the Sirius radio needs. Does anyone know if one
brands antenna works with the other brand of radio. I would think that the
frequency and connections would be standardized within the industry. I know
that the home type antenna that comes with the boombox has pretty good
reception sitting on the dash. I'm looking for as clean an install with the
best reception possible. I have posed this question to the folks at Sirius
but thought that I would check with the list for what has worked well for
other listees. Thanks for any suggestions from the list.
